上寨村地势险要，其地理特征是“油灯挂壁”；村外悬崖峭壁，村内田园风光，上有高山，下有飞瀑，堪称人间奇景。村旁有一面巨石，叫“晒月石”，面积有两个篮球场大，上面凹现着许多类似动物脚印、人脚印等奇特的印痕。站在“晒月石”上，环望四周，发现村庄就像一个巨大的碟子，环状的石壁倾斜地插入村中，巨石更多的部分深埋于平坦的田地中，田中微微露出的一两块石头，说明巨石遍及村庄的各个角落。
